burner thermostat

I have broken the wire on the hot box thermostat, where it joins into the small nut on the pipe leading out of the top of the hot box.

It looks like the wire is soldered into the nut, can this be soldered back into place or can I reconnect using wire connectors or do I need to replace the whole thermostat?

I would just replace it but in a ponce try soldering it back.

Steven, that wire cannot be repaired. The thermostat must be replaced.

Yes it must be replaced it is a thermocouple.

Hey if have to you can by pass it so you can have the heat till you get a new one.

you can disconect the thermostat as long as all the other safety features are functional all it does is shut off the burner when it gets to a predetermined temp, alot of burners dont even come with one. I wouldn't recommend it.
