Burner smokes like crazy when first started

What causes this to happen? My Landa PW is setup in my enclosed trailer with the burner and the exhaust vented outside.

The problem I'm having is that the Burner smokes alot for a couple of minutes when it first goes on then it burns clear. It use to burn pretty much clear all the time.

Now it seems to burn with a ton af blue smoke for the first 3-4 minutes and then clear. It seems that the burner is letting out this blue smoke longer each time I start this PW the first time during the day.

What Can I do to correct this problem??

im sure there are more helpfull people out there then me but do these things first.
charge the battery on your skid
change the fuel filter
then if keeps doing the same thing, you may need to pull the fuel nozzle off the burner and clean it or replace it.
somehow its either not getting enuff voltage in the beginning to burn the fuel completely or the spray pattern is not misting the fuel correctly and its burning off the leftover fuel from the clogged tip.
This is just my best guess. Im sure MARK can do better.
 
Sounds like soot build-up in the coils. Often with a vented system the vent restricts the air flow and soot builds up causing improper ventalation and the exhaust will not exit the pipe as designed causing the fire to be smothered as it exits the chamber causing more smoke. That is why it clears up the soot is blown clear and the fire can breathe again. Less of a bend and a larger pipe are the fix in this case as well as desooting the coils.
 
The colour of the smoke indcates unburnt fuel which is most likely caused by a restriction or air starvation.

Make sure that all the doors are open in your trailer before you begin. Also ensure the vent is larger than the coil exhaust and clear.

If the coil is sooting up then the smoke will be black, white or blue smoke indicates unburnt fuel or a too lean situation. If the coil is new it needs to be run for a couple of hours to get really hot and get things cleaned out. Also it may be that you got a machine that is not set up for your altitude and you need to adjust the air band and/or shutter settings.
