Burner nozzle

I put on the smaller pulley and went from 4.8 gpm to about 5.6 gpm and now, of course, the water won't heat up as much. I'm only getting about 145 degrees. I tried turning the screw for more fuel (about one full turn) and opened up the air flow a little bit and only got up to about 155.

Now I guess I have to change to a different burner nozzle or something.

What do I need to do? How do I find out what size nozzle is in there now?

This is about a 20 year old coil. Is there any maintenance I need to do to it first?

Thanks,

Tony, is that a 12 or 120 volt burner?

If you hinge the ignitor open, you'll see the "burner gun" (the J shaped pipe). Remove the copper line coming up from the fuel pump and remove the retaining nut. Reach in and grab the burner gun. Pull it to the right, twist it 45* clockwise, and lift it up and out. On the wrench flats of the burner nozzle there are numbers stamped. The orifice size and spray angle will read "1.75" and "80*" or similar. If it's a 12 volt burner, you may not be able to go larger on the fuel nozzle without creating a soot problem due to the fan size.
