hey guys. i know that using muratic acid isn't reccomended for new masonry cleaning. but, some contractors won't pay you enough to use the expensive stuff like nmd 80, sure kleen 600 and other safe chemicals. i would like to know if any guys use muratic acid to clean bricks on a regular and whats the mixing ratio and instructions to use this safely. is there any powder that can be mixed with water to create muratic acid (concentrate). i'm just trying to minimize the chemical cost as much as possible. thanks guys.

If a contractor won't pay .25-.30 a sq ft...walk away. There are plenty that will pay what you should earn doing new construction with a quality chemical. We sell these jobs every day - gimme a call tomorrow :)

We charge by the square foot - charging by the brick (in our area) leaves too many "what if's". Too often the number of brick that the builder will tell you includes brick you're not cleaning, brick that gets broken & unused or even brick that never leaves the pallet. Also, our pricing changes with the height of the structure - anything above the soffet line of the first story is more.
