Brass thieves hit hydrants

Yea these guys don't care who they steal from or what they steal now days. I worked on a new Home Depot that was being built just a month ago and they kept breaking into the supply trailer taking copper that was being used on the plumbing, the cops stopped in while I was working at night keeping an eye on things there.

They're stealing cataytic converters here. They hit a whole fleet of molly maids cars one night.

cataytic converters have palladium in them, currently selling for 400 - 600 dollars an ounce! I had a local service shop ask me if they could cut mine off of the work van, and split the 300 dollars with me to a guy in town who scraps them out!

Yea the coverters are worth more then most cars that are wrecked or scapped. These guys love Copper too they go in to new houses and strip the wire they just put in the new construction, if they can scrap it, they steal it.We gave a bunch of old electric motors and other things with copper wire in them away and these guys jumped on all the junk and hauled it off for us too anything they can sell they haul off now days.

Aluminum thieves have dropped a couple of the high voltage transmission towers in the Midwest (the BIG ones). I think a year or so ago someone got killed when one dropped on the crooks. A friend that owns a used car lot had all the cat converters cut off in one night.
