Blood?

Does anyone know how to get blood completely out of concrete? My dog got hit and killed this morning in front of our house, and I need to clean the concrete so I dont have to look at it. I tried straight pressure, but it didnt work. Any certain chems that might work? Thanks.

That is too bad.
You should be able to get it out with just bleach poured on the area. That area may be a bit cleaner than the rest but it would be a quick fix.

Sorry to hear about the loss of a pet.

Sorry to hear that. But aren't we supposed to make sure our pets dont get hurt..i dont sense any remorse, just sounds very matter of fact..

Sorry but i dont think that i could be on this site asking a question like that, after my dog who is like a member of my family was just killed.

We all greave in defferent ways my pets kind like my kids love them and care for them but I understand were he is coming from I could not look at the spot every day knowing that I could have prevenated the death my pet. I would use little degreaser my self becuase blood fats in it so would come up easer then using bleach.

heres the situation. I didnt lock the front door last night and it doesnt latch unless you push on it kinda hard. so sometime in the night, the wind blew it open. He wasnt the kind of dog to just sit in the front yard, so he went for a little run and happen to be hit by a car. We removed the body and took him to a vet for cremation.

Now, I have a 50' trail of blood, skin and hair at the entrance to my neighborhood, and do not want to have to see it everytime I leave. I have had my dog for 5 years. My wife got him for me when we first started dating. When I found him this morning, I was hysterical.

I understand why it seemed matter of fact, but I resent the fact that you would assume that I dont care about my dog. I am simply trying to figure out how to remove the blood stain and didnt want to go into all of the details on here.

So if you do not have a solution, please do not post negative comments.

Scott, try some hydrogen peroxide on a small area and brush at it a bit then rinse it off. It works on clothing.

Hate to read about your dog.

Sorry to hear about your loss Scott. I could not imagine finding one of my dogs like that...of course if one of my dogs were to get hit, there would have been a totaled car sitting there too:p

Hydrogen Peroxide

is what crime-scene clean-up folks use. Sparklean was right on.

As an alternative that might be a little easier on your wallet, you can try Oxy-Brite or Clorox II color-safe bleach, which are both peroxide-based. Avoid using any bleach or degreasers, as they will make the remaining blood more difficult to remove.

I think this is the best forum to ask about difficult cleaning situations, BTW.

I know how tough it is to lose a pet, and I know how tough it must be to deal with the aftermath of your loss. You have my sympathy.
