She graduated from Florida State University and you want to go watch the Gators? We must have gave y'all a real beat down lol.
Gators are going to be serving up another disappointing loss to Bama.
One question:
What are the Bama team? Are they a crimson tide or an elephant? It is like Auburn Tigers, but they have a war Eagle or Miami Hurricanes who have a bird for a mascot.
All in all it will be a good team especially since you are spotted one less top defensive end from our side, but the same results. I always like to see Sabin get onto his guys when they give up on a play without any recognition of him giving up on the Dolphins...
Hey Gators :kma:.......
The origin of the mascot dates back to 1930. On October 8, a sportswriter wrote about the previous weekend's Alabama - Ole Miss football game. The writer, using the flair for the dramatic common in sportswriting at the time, wrote that an anonymous fan yelled out "Here come the elephants" upon hearing the rumble of the first team coming on the field. The name stuck throughout what became a national championship season and beyond.
How the Crimson Tide Got its Name
1900 Offensive formationIn early newspaper accounts of Alabama football, the team was simply listed as the "varsity" or the "Crimson White" after the school colors.
The first nickname to become popular and used by headline writers was the "Thin Red Line." The nickname was used until 1906.
The name "Crimson Tide" is supposed to have first been used by Hugh Roberts, former sports editor of the Birmingham Age-Herald. He used "Crimson Tide" in describing an Alabama-Auburn game played in Birmingham in 1907, the last football contest between the two schools until 1948 when the series was resumed. The game was played in a sea of mud and Auburn was a heavy favorite to win.
But, evidently, the "Thin Red Line" played a great game in the red mud and held Auburn to a 6-6 tie, thus gaining the name "Crimson Tide." Zipp Newman, former sports editor of the Birmingham News, probably popularized the name more than any other writer.
Obvious that my Gators did not come to play today. Looks like we will play Cincy in the Sugarbowl. I have seen them kinda struggle throughout the year. I figured if we did make it out with a win we were not going to be able to compete with Texas as I know Bama will be humbled by the Longhorns as well. Texas is simply the best this year. You can goahead and fed ex the championship to Texas...
Not too much of a company man(SEC) my Gators just happen to be in the conference. Too many lopsided losses for SEC teams against teams from other conferences. Look at the SEC and you will only see Gators and Tide as quality teams. All the others are garbage and filler teams basically.
See y'all next year in this game with Brantley instead.
Especially considering Mccoy's performance tonight..yup, they were ready. the running back should win the hiseman forsure. hes a beast
