Bids

I signed on the institute religiously about two years ago when i was washing cars for car lots. I just spent the last two years in the Philippines and now that i'm back, I can't get ahold of my old car lots. I run a 3000+ psi 8gpm hot water unit with a 300 gal. water tank. I understand that i can do much more than cars with this unit but I'm confussed on how to go about looking for work. I keep seeing the idea of "bidding" poping up and I'd like to know if anyone can point me in the right direction. Where do i look to place bids and if anyone also has advertising tips i'd appreciate it. Since i've been home i've done a little charity work and that has given me a good word of mouth spread, but I need to pay tuition and books soon! Thanks!

What's up in Florida ??? This is what I did .. I got a business card Program off of the internet . Then I made up 1000's of Business cards telling what I did and Who I was.. Then at night I went out and put thenm on every door of every business I thought would benifit from my services.... even though I have been in this business for 15 years B&R is only about 4 years old .. B&R has over 125 accounts. The card idea is cheap and it works.. 2 weeks after putting out over 400 business cards I got 6 Calls and 5 accounts out of 400 cards .. not a bad deal..

what type of work are you looking for? residential will differ from commercial approach. Get you cards professionally designed for obvious reasons.

I think I'm leaning towards commercial work. I guess i just need a way to get my foot in the door. Would it be at all better to try to deliver business cards in persone, perhaps with a small flyer? How about govt. jobs?

verizon has a reasonable program as well. it advertises on the verizon superpager. i think i started with them at $16.00 a month and every time someone clicks i think it costs me .20 cents. it is call pay per click. it took a little while for the advertisement to pay off but when it did it payed big.. :D

This is true.. I had professional cards made up one time.. and I handed them out.. Oh well couple jobs here and there.. But Guess what that ugly grean physcodelic card .. Well I have gotten so many calls from that card it's funny.. One conversation went like this.. " Hey is this B&R " I need a price on cleaning my Hood .. By the way that is the most ugly card I have ever seen .""

I did the job a week ago got the fire system inspection , Hood Cleaning and Cleaned The Concrete $ 948.00 ..

Not bad ...
It's plain and simple ..
I have Gotten More Calls from that ugly Green Psyc looking card in one week than all the other business cards I have ever had..

I am thinking about B&R Bikini Girls on my next Card.. Just got to hide them from the wife.. NOW THERE'S AN ATTENTION GETTER..

That is why my cards are Mauve. Trucking companies always remember them.

Well, I'm getting to work on the business cards! Anyone got any good ideas on where I should start looking for them, I think i want to stick with something at least a little profesional, but gaudy is certainly not beyond me! Should i see what they offer at the copy shops, office max, internet do it yourself, or what? I don't think i'm following you on the "verison" thing? Could you elaborate? Thanks alot guys!
