Restaurant fire in Bedford
The Bedford Fire Department put out a fire in the downtown area early this morning.
A police officer spotted smoke coming from the Hunan Chinese Restaurant on Bridge Street around 5:30.
Officials say heavy smoke and flames had consumed the inside of the building by the time the fire department arrived.
The fire was extinguished, but not before causing extensive damage to the inside of the building.
Police say it did not spread to adjoining buildings. The cause of the fire is being investigated.
