Ball Valves

I have been using this type of ball valve for a few years now - but I am noticing that they are needing to be scrapped after 2 or 3 months of use (mainly shopping centers, gas stations and restaurant hot water type cleaning).

Has anyone had good experience with another type or brand?

Thanks

We actually use the same ones Steve. We also use them when rinsing on roof cleaning jobs. I can usually get at least a year out of them. We don't use hot water though. Maybe that why they last a bit longer.

That is the kind I use and I usually get about 6 or so months out of them with hot water. Wish they would last longer.

I tried the bigger kind with the long steel handle but did not like them, throughout the nite with hot water they get harder to open and close.

Those are all I use, I haven't had one go bad yet. They are the only ones I know of that always turn easy.

I use that type at the end of the hose. When I put it at the machine it'll let a little water through when closed. I thought they were rated for the same psi as the long handled type but it does not perform well in that aplication. It defiantly depends what your using it for.

I use that one. I just bought a new one. My last one went 4 or 5 years. No hot water and I don't change wands or use it partially open very often. Your guys might be using it partially open more than you are use to.

Need 10" channel locks to open and close those small valves. They suck.

Prefer the ones with longer handles so one can open and close them.

Same here always got good service out of them, wonder were they are made. They may have taken them to the same place that makes these leaky hose reel swivels.

Thanks

Thanks Paul, I'll try them next. I went through a few of these in the past, but they had the brass body - the problem I had with them was the handle falling off. Are the ones you recommend more durable?

That was going to be my question, we would go out and get to the job and all the handles would be gone, then we started putting a little bolt on the handle but if it were not tight enough they would back out and if they were too tight then the handle wouldnt turn.

I do like the fact they were super rugged in the valve body, it would be nice if these were better!
