Awning Cleaning Chemicals

I just use Simple Cherry on awnings and tents. It works just as good as the $50 a gallon stuff for the ones I clean. I have done side by side comparisons and can't tell a difference.

That's crazy because I thought I was the only one who liked Simple Cherry on Awnings but it is an awesome detergent for awnings for sure!

Are you having to scrub awnings with SC? What does it do for the mold? In the south they don't just get dirty, they get covered in mold and mildew.

I had seen some fabric awnings, they don't look like canvas but a thinner fabric that really moves a lot when the wind is blowing, almost looks like felt and they are colored in different colors like black, green, blue and yellow at a couple shopping centers.

These have the regular bird droppings on them but also lots of the green algae and some mold.

I am sure if you used bleach on them it would also bleach the fabric but I was wondering if the sodium percarbonate (oxyclean) or something else would work to kill the algae to make these look great again?

Anyone cleaned mold and algae from fabric awnings where the material could be ruined with bleach?

Thanks.
