It's a new day. And once again there are new allegations regarding Cam Newton.
Joe Schad of ESPN reported late Tuesday night that two different sources who recruited for Mississippi State claim that they had conversations with both Cam and his father Cecil about a pay-to-play plan, in exchange for his commitment to the university.
One of the recruiters alleges that Cecil Newton said it would take "more than a scholarship" for Cam to go to Mississippi State. While, another source alleges Cam Newton expressed regret in a telephone conversation about not going to Mississippi State, committing to Auburn instead, because "the money was too much."
According to Mississippi compliance officials, the information about those allegations were handed over to SEC compliance officers in January.
ESPN is also reporting the Cecil Newton did not respond to an e-mail asking for comment on the new allegations. The Newtons had previously denied any wrongdoing regarding the allegations made by John Bond about the six-figure asking price a third-party had requested for Cam Newton's committment to Mississippi State.
"I'm not going to confirm nor deny nothing that has been taking place," Cecil Newton told Foxsports.com late Tuesday night.
