Asphalt driveway

I had some roof mix get on an asphalt driveway around the bottom of the gutters and across the width of the driveway. I bagged the gutters and rinsed afterwards but the custome called and said their was "chaulky" looking streaks running across the driveway. I thought I saw someone else post about the mix getting on asphalt with a remedy but my searches turn up nothing. Would my surface cleaner take care of it?

Any help highly appriciated!

Ray, if it was only roof mix its probably just salt and soap residue. It should just wash off with the next rain . If the customer is impatient, a garden hose or Lt rinse with a pressure washing wand should remove it. I wouldn't go using a sc on it.

Thanks Larry. It was over a month ago and it has rained a few times. He said he tried to rinse it with his garden hose but it doesn't come off. Are you thinking some encouragement with a little more pressure than a garden hose would do the trick? And yes, it was just a 30-70 roof mix with the usual surfactant.

You can try it. I wouldn't go to hard on it. Do they have a black top sealer on it? If that doesn't work it may just need a new fresh coat. Easy enough to fix. Home Depot etc...carry it. Easy to apply with a roller.

Thanks for the quick suggestion guys. I think I can put the top on the bottle of Pepto now! ... haha

What that tells me is that you care about the quality of work you provide to your clients. That's the way it should be. I've spent a few sleepless nights myself worrying about certain jobs. Just goes to show your not a hack . Be proud!

Larry is right when you do big jobs and your waiting for the manager to call with complaint even if their isn't problem just because you want everything to always go right .
