Arrogant customers

Man I had to tell a man I wouldn't work for him today because of his attitude and demeaning way he tried to talk to me.

He called a couple of times yesterday and I called him back and left a message.

He calls me again and leaves a smartazz message about he was still willing to let me do his work if I would call right back.What do these people think we sit around all day and wait for calls.I usually return calls within 2 hours but yesterday was a BEAR bowed up from start to finish and he calls with this attitude like we are all starving and we should be grateful "HE" allows us to work for him.

He didn't know what to say when I blew him off and let me tell you it felt pretty good.I'm sure we have all had em like this.
 
I learned to like customers who bitch and complain.
I have found if someone has the balls to get in my face and complain, they will also have the balls to sing my praises IF I make em happy.
We ALL "kiss a little Azz" from time to time :)
 
I can kiss it with the best of them but this guy was different.Like he was royalty and I was some laborer from the fields.Man he rubbed me the wrong way.

The job kinda sucked to so that just greased the rails to the big blow up.I didn't dog cuss him(thats an Alabama term for a severe cussing out)or anything I just told him I didn't need his job.
 
i had one guy like that telling me he wants me to blast his fence with at least 3000 psi in a demanding way. I was set to do the job but i was praying that it would get canceled and it did.
 
Some people think we are glorified gardeners, when i was a waiter and they treated me like crap, i would take their food back in the kicthen and wipe my butt with it,put some more gravy on it, turn it back around, and tell them now its well done. Won't try that that with chems. lol ,just walk away. My mother taught me that, she was a cook for catholic priest.
 
How bout this one.

we had a guy tell us when we where done to let him know, so he can call his roofer to inspect the roof once we left.

Well we just happened to be booked for a long time and never had a chance to get to his house. It was season.

Amen Apple, We have to turn ourselves into bolts to we can adjust to every nut out there. I love when they tell me how to do my job. Or even better is when they tell me what chemical I am going to use on their house. There are some crazy people out there. I gave a guy a price the other day and he says to me "that sounds kinda high". I reminded him that I had already given him an estimated price on the phone before I went out there. I said to him "high compared to what". He tells me "High compared to what I can do it for". I said, it is what I quoted you on the phone. Then he asks me "how much do you make an hour". I said "well how much do you make an hour". He said "thats non of your business". I said well I can tell you one thing. The longer we keep talkin the more I am gonna make an hour on this job. He said I think I'll do it myself. I said knock yourself out hotrod and left. I did get $25 from him for the canced job. I always make customers hold an appt time with a credit card kind of like a hotel. If they cancel within 24 hours or are not home when I get there I charge them. It's not much but it does usually cover my fuel costs. I do not do free estimates for residential. Those of you that do might get the phone call over me but my time is worth money and I will not do it for free. I used to do it but with the price of fuel and people not being home after they book an estimate I lost too much time and money to continue to do it. I give them a price over the phone and can get pretty close without seeing the place. I have not screwed myself yet and hope I never do. I usually give myself a $50 buffer. It probably is not what most guys do but it works for me.
