Aqua Vent Hoods

A customer of mine has an Aqua Vent Hood. At least 13 years old. The Aqua Vent company is out of business now. Question #1 Was this hood intended for a water wash system?
Question #2 When can I get parts. Nothing major. Instead of filters there are removable plates. These plates have stainless steel handles. About 3 inches with the attaching screws thru the front ends of the handle. They are breaking. I need 2. Any help out there?
 
They're not a true automatic cleaning hood. What they tried to do with those systems was use a water solution to remove the grease laden vapors from the air, acting an air scrubber of sorts. If I remember correctly they had at least a couple of designs of them. I have a customer that has 14 of their systems but the aqua features have been disabled. If yours are the same model as mine, after you remove the doors / plates, you should see another thin ss sheet attached with small screws that you need to remove in order to get access to clean.

The only place I know to get parts would be the mfg. Not sure if they are still around but Atlantic Metal Fabricators Inc was one company building them. I don't know if they were Aqua Vent or just contracted for them but if the latter is true, they might be able to run you a small batch but might be pricey.

Other than that maybe you could find something used on ebay or a restaurant type auction. If all else fails I'm sure a local machine shop could duplicate the parts but that may not be cost effective.

I actually have a college that has WORKING Aqua vent hoods that were installed in 1989. No issues with the filter plates but we have retrofitted them with new washers and shims where they lock into place. Just a FYI if you need nozzles the gaylord and accurex nozzles fit them.
