Applying & Rinsing

I usually pre-wet as well. One of the reasons I pre-wet is to cool a surface down so the chems don't dry too quickly. Hot as heck here in Atlanta in August. I usually apply chems from the bottom up.

if your using an x-jet i really dont think it matters since it covers large areas quickly but i still think its wise to apply chems from bottom up. as for prewetting surface i always thought that it would weaken the chems, although i have power washed in the rain with excellent results.

Bottom to top (always). On big jobs you can leave marks if it's really dirty and is running down a dry surface, almost like an abrasive.

In seven years of full-time/year-round residential washing, I see no difference. Frankly. I wash from side to side, starting at the top, downstreaming my mix. I have never had an issue with chem causing a problem if it dries either. I usually wash all the way around a house, or at least 2 or 3 sides at a time, then rinse from where I ended. No streaks on siding or windows.

Do you apply chems from the bottom up or do you start at top. I've seen people do both, I have never really figured what the difference is.

We wet it down, apply starting at the top and rinse

Jeff

I really never seen a difference :D

when i was an auto painter i sprayed from the botom up.

hey guys, happy labor day. is there easy way to get oxidation off a house? a guy and his wife told me you have to brush. so i tried it on mine with a little simple green, what a work out. i also tried the Mr. Clean thing, no shine on the vinyle but the windows sparkel like crazy.
