Anyone ever seen a Gaylord hood like this one?

I saw this place yesterday.
A real old Gaylord hood.
I have seen lots of Gaylords with the access doors in different places....sometimes directly above the plenum or sometimes above the hood...... but always in a vertical position.
The access doors for the plenum interior lay flat on the top of the hood.
There is a very large area between the access door and the rear wall that is not really accessible. Not to mention the drain pipe is way in the back and is surely clogged.

Probably.
I found it because I had a hard time resetting the fire damper so I stood on a ladder to get enough leverage to push the damper rod back in place.
While I was up there I noticed the doors.

Those look like you can actually clean something with them, much better than the ones on the front that call for you to be double jointed at the wrist in order to scrap anything out of them.

The previous cleaning company called and they are asking "What access panels, there 's no access panels" .

Doesn't look that scary! A putty knife, 3 in 1 tool and cardboard box will tame that beast.
