Anyone do high rises

Anyone out here do highrise or use swing staging and repel?

Looking to possibly buy some swing staging and want to get good pricing

Also looking to find training for a couple my guys on repelling and bosoms chair work

I've done a good bit of rope work but never to clean anything. More rope rescue for the fire service and done some tower climbing for radio and cell work. I have some contacts that are comm trained for tower work and SPRAT certified for rope access technician. I know one of the view level 3 SPRAT instructors if you would like his contact.

How high up do you go Jeff?
I've seen some of your pics with the swing stages and they look great. Labour intensive though? I am assuming you are up well over the 100 foot mark? We use Genie Booms for buildings up to 115 ft but Jerry says you used to have his butt in one of those hanging chairs. Crazy stuff you thrill seekers do!

I have heard the Ins is really high might want to check that too. I too would be interested in taking some classes to.

Before I was into washing I was a union steel painter & sandblaster. I have hung from 350' smoke stacks, worked some highrises, but most of my work was bridges, power plants and tanks

I don't do the work now and want some training for my guys on repelling which I did about 18 years ago

Plus I m searching for pricing on swings etc

I did like doing it years ago, really get your blood flowing, I actually was pretty crazy back in the day and good at what I did, but not for me now

Jeff, my friend Carlos has been doing hi-rise window cleaning for over 19 years, repelling, swing stage, etc....

I will give you his number if you want or talk to him for you. He has been wanting to train people in Houston but it is hard to find good help, especially guys that want to repel and clean windows.

Let me know if you want his number or for him to call you.

Thank you everyone. I am going to contact IWCA and hopefully they will also know where to buy the equipment also

I have taken a bunch of classes all around the south for rope rescue and as far as equipment goes PMI is the leader for industrial rope access work. Rope Access is what we are talking about for working on buildings, bridges, dams, stacks, etc... Those guys have some very good equipment. Petzl also carries a lot of really good industrial equipment. Btw it's spelled rappelling and bosun's seat... haha It's cool though spelling it right doesn't mean you know how to do it. Petzl or PMI would be a solid choice and they can definitely steer you in the right direction. For a descent device a lot of guys are going to the Petzl Stop or the Petzl ID. Make sure when you purchase a descent device that it matches the diameter rope you are planning to use. Petzl makes 2 different ID's for this reason. Also, even with a known diameter of rope make sure you ask someone from either PMI or Petzl about the type of rope and it's "hand". Hand meaning how the rope feels and bends. 2 ropes of the same diameter with a different Hand will go through a device much differently and sometimes will not even slide through the device well. Feel free to call me if you want. I haven't done a lot of industrial work but I have made many contacts through training at some national conferences. I have put my hands on many different manufacturer's products and I can probably tell you if they are just trying to sell you some crap you don't need.
