and interesting thread on lawnsite.com

I just read those post on that topic about turning in someone who one suspects is not paying there taxes.

WOW people can get really nuts. To compare not turning in a rapist to not turning in a possible tax cheat that person must be completely off his rocker.

One is a violent criminal act where the police dep't must be notified and the other is a non violent act that the IRS will figure out on there own without some nut job complaining because he can't make it doing his own business.

If the IRS feels that you know something then they have there ways to complete there investigation. If on the other hand some nut job goes to them because he believes he has info on a tax cheat there is almost always a hidden reason why this person did this. Its a self serving attitude that brought this individual in in the first place.

Most people pay there taxes one way or another and most people feel the Gov't takes to much from them in taxes but these people still pay there taxes anyway. But I can't think of anyone I know who want's to run to the IRS to report a possible tax cheat.

And I would be willing to bet that most people feel the same way.

Either way IRS ALWAYS gets there money. If there is a guy who cheats and his business grows then the IRS will get the money off of his employees if they are on the books. And if a business gets big enough then eventually employees usually end up on the books and then IRS can tax them. And eventually if a business is good enough it will show a profit and IRS will get some of that too.

So I say worry about your own business and let IRS worry about there's

Remember this is only one mans opinion which doesn't make it law. I also might add Jealousy gets people absolutely no where in life.

I have always been tempted to do it to the guys in the little yellow trucks. I have one tell me that he doesn't declare anything that he makes in an office complex. Cash= No Trail. I have just never done it. I guess that I would not want someone to drop a dime on me for something that I might be doing illegal. Especially since if I am doing something I don't know about it.

Like John said,

There is always a reason, and I would say it is because your competitor is doing better then you and you want to hurt him so you can just walk in and take over his accounts.

Sad thing is although they claim to have a way for you to do it without saying who you are it does not work that way, they need some sort of reason from you to go on their witch hunt.
