Ammonium Bifluoride or Hydroflouric presure washer

Anyone use Ammonium Bifluoride aluminium brightener? I see some places they claim it's safer than hydroflouric acid. anyone have any pros or cons to using this instead of hydroflouric when washing trucks?

This economical alternative to our original Aluminum Brightener removes oxidation, diesel oils and resins from aluminum. DO NOT USE on glass or polished aluminum. It is a low foamer that instantly removes welding smut. It is formulated with Ammonium Bifluoride, not Hydrofluoric Acid, so it is safer to use and fumes less. If you think Ammonium Bifluoride (ABF) is safer than HF you are sadly sadly mistaken. ABF will cause the same injuries as HF and actually has less symptoms until it is too late. It used to be used as a food service (FDA approved) cleaner for food processing lines and I am sure others will chime in on it's use for car/ truck cleaning.
My advice is to use the same PPE you would use for HF as you would with ABF
 
The HF will clean better and faster where the ABF is somewhat safer to use but will not give the same results as fast or as good. Just depends on what you are going to use them for and how you are going to apply the chemicals.
 
Good to know, the product I've used seems deceptively mild. It will do wonders for some stubborn mineral deposit type situations on cement, fountains etc. Seems to remove the deposits and leave the surface unharmed the times I've used it, and nothing else was working. Klen-Stone is the one I use.
 
ive tried it with no luck. i was downstreaming it. it "cleaned" but did not brighten. not cost effective either and i still not safe. i like goodole fashion hf brightener. you can get it at higher or lower concentrations and its cost effective. the only product i tried that was some what safe and biodegradable was a car wash wheel cleaner that did a good job on aluminum. not as cost effective as hf ab but effective.
