This grease duct is blows straight out the side of a 4 story building.
The building is literally right next to the freeway and when you stand on the fire escape you are almost directly over the slow lane.

The duct has an inline fan and 1 hood directly on the other side of the outside wall.

Scary stuff.

Admittedly being completely ignorant on hood procedures (this is why we don't DO hoods) I'm at a loss on how exactly you clean this section..

Do you crawl in from the inside and clean, or can you reach it from the fire ladder? Or is it more like a lay on your belly and shoot upside down from the fire landing above??

Not much can be done with this one as it is now.
No access inside plus an inline fan is right on the other side of the wall.

They may put up scaffolding for us - then we can clean it.
We'll have to wrap the duct with plastic (or maybe the scaffolding) when it is washed to prevent grease and debris from landing on the freeway.

Chris, Did you do this job yet? if so, how did it turn out, working on scafolds and all?

We have not done this one yet.
The building engineer looking into the cost of the scaffolding.
