Not sure where else to post this..kind of a long story so I will try to sum it up.

I have been at a hotel since november 20th. They authorized my card at the front desk for $5100, to be paid upon checkout on Feb 1st. I spoke with the sales manager about extending my stay till march 1st and she said no problem just come down and have my card authorize for the additional $2200. I went down 2 days later and asked to speak with her and was told she was let go and was greeted by the new GM. I explained my prior arrangements with the GM and was told she would not honor the arrangement.

Ok, so now I owe $5100 on feb 1st, not what I wanted but whatever.

I check my checking account balance on my debit card, and see I have been charged $4335 by the hotel, which has overdrawn by account by $4300 dollars and gave me some hefty overdraft fees as I keep my money in my savings in case of my debit card being stolen. I then called up the bank and explained the situation and filed a claim, and was given a $4300 dollar credit until the hotel sorts it out. I talked to the GM and she apologized for me being charged early and said they would refund the payment. So I check my card about 12 hours later, Bank of america came through on their end and gave me the $4300 dollar credit, but my balance is still -4300? why? because the hotel charged me AGAIN. The GM is telling me they wont even let me stay until Feb 1st now they want full payment of what is owed currently.

So in other words I am forced to take close to 10k out of my savings account in order to pay a $4500 bill due to hotel error or what? they will file charges? or turn over to collections? I spoke directly to the hotel owner and was supposed to receive a "call back" which did not happen and I have not been able to reach him since.

What would you do? let them file charges/turn over to collections and then pay the bill once the bank situation is sorted out? or drain almost every penny to my name due to their mistake?

Kinda lost as to what I should do here.

Feel free to leave any advice/questions it is greatly appreciated

First thing is issue a stop payment so the hotel can't charge you anymore. 2nd, while you're speaking with the bank, explain to them what happened and have them issue a 2nd credit. 3rd, call a lawyer.

Call a lawyer and have him sort it out. There are fraudulent charges on your credit card. There are lawyers that would have a field day with this.
