A Scam?

This morning I received this text: "Couuld you do this job (see pics) Need it to be started asap <<pic-att>>http://pix-send.com/?photo=490SRT Estimate? Thanks"

I followed the link and the site said the pics could only be viewed with a PC or laptop.

When I got back to the office I went there with my desktop and it said I had to download a program, which my anti-virus software said was suspect, so I didn't do it. Texted the guy back and haven't heard from him.

Phone # is a landline in Pennsylvania, and we're in Oregon.

Hmm...

There are many scams like that happening all over the place.

Sometimes it will be a company that will send you a check for services without asking what you charge, just you send them back the difference. The difference is what they scam off of you and then the bank is calling you asking why you are trying to deposit a bogus check and now you are in trouble.

Many other types of scams out there, always be careful.

I have been getting so many phone calls that are BS lately

I don't download anything fishy... To risky... I try to hover over links to see where they really lead. Time fighting a computer virus gets to be lengthy. It's not worth the risk. Legitimate customers will get to me.

I have never heard of this before but will be cautious of this situation now.

I heard on the news a while back a man owned a landscape business down here in Florida. He got a call to see if he gives free estimates and the owner said yes and made an appointment to meet the man at his house. When he got there him and his partner knocked on the door and a man answered, explained how he bought the house out of foreclosure and what it is he wanted but said he really wanted a complete landscaping job done in the backyard. When they went through the fence to the backyard there were 2 more men waiting and robbed him at gun point, took the mans gold chain, and wallets.

The man stated in the news report that he recognized the man from the gas station the day before.

My necklace cost me 3gs so ever since I heard this story I stopped wearing my chain to work.
