Here's a quote from my Fortune Small Business Magazine( FSB)that I get once a month.

"Starting a company is very hard to do. The risks are enormous, the anxiety is enormous. The only business you should start is one in which you have a HUGE INTEREST, or else you won't have the persistence to stick with it. Never get into something because it's a logical path. Get into something because you're FANATICALLY INTERESTED in it". (Powerwashing for me)

This comes from the second annual "Top 10 minds in small business" cover story in this magazine where these minds tell you how to sell smarter,raise more money, and even find a great city where you can start a business.

The top three states to start a business right now are Nevada, Arizona and Utah. The hottest entrepreneurial hot spots are Phoenix(Ron M. and Scott Stone will be happy to see this), Atlanta, Raleigh-Durham, Salt Lake City, Charlotte, and Las Vegas.

I just thought this might interest some of you here as it did for me.
 
The Hot spots were determined from a guy named David Birch who is known for his Pioneering research on small businesses. How he came to the conclusion that he did it doesn't say.

What they do say is that you can make it most anywhere with your business if you really believe in it and are willing to work you tail off to succeed. You should be fanatical and have a tremendous passion for your business to help you succeed.

What Gav doesn't say is that he wants to powerwash 10 hours per day and drink beer 10 hours per day. Unfortunately, he wants to do these in the same 10 hours.
