Every year, for my business I set goals. Sometimes they are simple goals, and sometimes, they are not so simple. Currently, I am not batting 1.000 on achieving my goals, but I would say I am about 85%. I will take that as acceptable.
This past year has been really helter skelter. I expanded my business tremendously. I paid down a lot of the debt that I had to incur to expand my business, and I have increased productivity and customer satisfaction. I am currently contemplating what my next goal should be, and how I am going to achieve it.
One of the things I want to do is be able to get away from the office more frequently. I am not really super busy personally, but feel a need to be here most of the time. It is kind of crazy, and counter productive. I do know that I have a couple of trips scheduled. I have a week in Spain planned in March. I also have a week in Orlando planned, with my whole family, between Christmas and New Years. We were going to do China, and had every intention, but decided to delay that trip because of lack of interest on our oldest kids part, between that, and my wife having never traveled outside of the United States, she gets nervous when I come up with these ideas.
Perhaps, I am going to figure out a way to make my pressure washers more reliable. I have been gradually spending the money to make the machines that were brand new just a year ago, work better. Changing pumps, and I might start changing motors, as well. There are a lot of logistics, planning and money that go with that, as well.
So, what are your realistic goals? What are you going to improve your business, and the operation of it?
