A few questions for guys with vans...

We are leaning towards setting up a van and I have a few questions. We currently have a Gx390 4gpm cold water with 275gal tote, a twin pump roof cleaning setup with a 65 gal tank, SC, and other odds and ends. Also we do mostly residential for now....1. Has anyone tried sealing off the cab? 2. What type of liner would you put on the flooring? Make a skid or mount everything directly to the floor? Venting or opening the doors? What are your biggest likes and dislikes of having a van setup?

I have a van set up that I used last year. it was a Chevrolet express 2500. it has an AAladin 4 gpm hot water vertical skid and a 200 gallon tank. I had it vented out the back when the back double doors were open. there was a hose reel in front of the skid with room for one more. using the van wasn't horrible, I just didn't like it because of the space. it got cramped real quick. I still have it and next year I will use it but it will be mostly pulling my trailer.
 
Watch your payload with the van's, water is heavy and it doesn't take much to overload them. If you really want to do a van and do it right, look into getting a sliding deck out the back that you can put the pressure washer on. Open the doors, roll the pressure washer into open air to vent the heat and exhaust and you are fine. Put the reels on the slide out as well and keep the tank on the solid floor.

+10000. I have a 100 gallon for my 8gpm water dragon on my truck...never have run out of water
 
with my van I only loaded my tank two or three times last season. I am going to keep it and put in a smaller tank. when i do that then I will have room for chem tanks and another hose reel
 
The vans work out great for us. Everything's inside protected and safe. We line x the entire inside of the cargo area on 2 of them and have a slide out on rollers when we run the burners. I've have box trucks vans trailers and utility body trucks. The van by far is the best setup. The only downfall is the surface rusts is starting in areas where the water gets trapped. Unfortunately the Linex didn't help with that.
 
My operation is run out of a Ford E350. I have Hydro Tek skid with a 275 Gallon water tank. I had a hole cut in the top, and a nice cover fabricated for venting the burner. For washer exhaust, I keep the back doors open. Like others have stated, the only problem is the room. I have been thinking about dropping to a smaller tank, but I keep hearing my grand dad say, "it better to have and not need than to need and not have." Overall, I am happy with the set up. Makes getting around DC and Baltimore a lot easier rather than trying to park a truck and trailer. I guess they both have their bennies, but as for me for now, the van works fine. I also installed slick locks on both the side and rears for added security. Setup in the van, I feel like I am high speed, with low drag. Plus the customers like the van with logo and lettering...simple but effective. Hope this helps. I will try to post a few pics...gotta spruce it up a bit though...2 KEC cleanings, and a roof over the past few days looks like a bomb went off in there.
