60 ft boom lift

What are halls guys average price on a 60 ft manlift, including pickup and delivery for about 15 miles each way?
Mine was a little under $670, but I lost a bid and the customer said the winners manlift price was almost half mine.
Wondering if he's trying to get away using half the lift or what....

Don't know the rules in the US but here in Australia, we can operate a cherry picker to a maximum height of 11 meters (about 38 feet) before we have to have a "ticket" to go higher.

To go to a 60' rig we would have to employ a ticketed operator (if no one on our crew is licensed) adding a further $200.00 per day to a quote, not to mention the cost of hiring the rig.

Do you fellas in the States have similar regulations?

Get a new company. That is too high. Sorry you lost the bid. We sometimes bid things all inclusive so the price for the lift is not itemized. Just a thought.

Same here..... I really only itemize if the customer requests it.

Wow... Those guys are giving me the shaft. I think we have a local Sunbelt maybe. I'll call around in the morning. Thanks guys

The $670 is a good rate- $250 daily, delivery charge $250 RT, insurance $100, plus tax 9% of total, and the fuel fill up, right around $700. The weekly is usually the best bet after 3 days. Thats Sunbelt in California.

How do you guys tow around a 60' boom lift- the weight on the machine alone has to be 5k? It takes a low-boy and semi-tractor to pull a JBL or Genie 60' jib boom large tire machine. What can you tow that services 60'?

Maybe I'm overkill

I rented a 60-foot diesel boom lift this weekend for $520 which is the out the door price including delivery, insurance, everything.

I always rent from this company......

Sometimes they send me a lift from Ahern, United, Sunbelt and a few others. It depends on which company has what I want at the moment. There for awhile 40 foot straight lifts were running scarce here in Southern California though. I shopped around and this company has always given me the best rates.

A little hint though, If you rent the lift and have it delivered Friday afternoon and picked up Monday morning you only get charged for 1 day rental. Providing that you don't go over 8 hours on the hour meter. I know it sounds like a pain to start and stop the motor every time you move but it saves minutes on the meter. Plus you always get a full tank of fuel with the unit. I always take out their insurance on the lift in case it gets stolen, vandalized, tipped over, ect.
