There is just something wrong with that boy. Playing with a Rattler like that.

My experience with snakes

One time when I was a teenager back in Jax, Fl I was with my Uncle and Father on the property he just purchased. They sent me down to the woods to mark where the survey stick was. I got pretty close when I started hearing a rattling noise. When you are born in the South you tend to have an instinct about what these things are. It was a Eastern Back Diamond back Rattler. Prob over 10 feet and huge in diameter. Anyhow, I hollered back what I saw. They thought I was foolin. Then they came to prove to me I was hearing things. When they got up and saw it they high tailed it with a few choice words. My Uncle went to get his gun. No prob except he could not find his bullets. So by the time we got back it was gone and we freaked cause there were always a bunch of kids in those woods.

The next time anyone makes fun of Barney with his one shiney bullet and laughs, dont because we would have given a fortune to have that one bullet.

Now if you ever dealt with a cotton mouth or a coral snake. Thats the real deal because there is no warning except for the slam of the mouth on your leg and the warm feeling of poison being injected into your body.

I know cotton mouths are extremely dangerous, and coral snakes the same, but i thought coral snakes jaws were so small they could not bite a human...? I was bit by a water moccasin before, Hurt like hell i had to go to the hospital.

Coral snakes are potent, but it takes time to get it into you.

Got hit by a cotton mouth two times in my life. A coral snake cant strike like say a rattler and others. They have to go for softer flesh like between the toes or thumb and index finger. They chew their venom into your blood stream. The thing that makes this snake bite easier to survive even though they are potent is that if you jerk them off of where they are latched onto quickly they usually do not have enough time to spread the venom.

Not my cup of tea, but...

I had some crazy friends back in Forida when I was younger. He had pirahnahs and a cobra. Was not legal, but people still get what they want.

Jerking off a snake would be the last thing I would think about doing to it if he was locked on to me...:D I joke, I joke.....lol

Here in the summer there are two towns close by that have "Rattlesnake Roundups" where it is like a festival to get the snakes to do things and you chase them and catch them and do other things.

When at the refinery we always ran into all kinds of snakes almost daily and I had killed about 30 or so with shovels, shovel handles and other kinds of pipes, chains or whatever I could find. I even drove over a few.

I forgot the names but there were a few of the blue, brown and black snakes that we were told not to hurt as they ate the rattle snakes, some of them were over 10' long but they were still fast.

Chris, Blue Indigo Snakes eat Rattle snakes. They are big dark blue or black and are really fast. They dont have such a bad attitude like a Rattler, but can be your friend. If you do see one they are generally on the move.

Thanks for the info, Indigo and King snakes are what I remember that eat the rattlers.

Not my first plan of action either!!!
