Currently America has more Czars than Communist Russia or China has ever had at one time. Now somebody argue with me that Obama isn't a communist.

The Czars ruled Russia before the communists. In fact, Lenin was only to rise to power because the Czars were so despotic to the peasant class...Of course, that, in and of itself is telling.

Franklin Roosevelt did something similar, but he called them Dictators. Same type of job, just a change in title.

This Country has gone from a Republic (as our forefathers created) to a democracy to now a dictatorship.

These "czars" make well into 6 figures of tax payers money, without the approval or consent of the House, the Senate or the American taxpayer.

The Drug Czar and the "war on drugs" is the biggest joke ever, has cost us billions, and has not been .5% effective. Actually the price of illegal drugs has dropped and the availability has increased. Oxymoron.

Like the "cash for clunkers" program. Brilliant, like pet rock.

A vehicle at 15 mpg and 12,000 miles per year uses 800 gallons a year of
gasoline.

A vehicle at 25 mpg and 12,000 miles per year uses 480 gallons a year.

So, the average clunker transaction will reduce US gasoline consumption
by 320 gallons per year.

They claim 700,000 vehicles – so that's 224 million gallons / year.

That equates to a bit over 5 million barrels of oil.

5 million barrels of oil is about ¼ of one day's US consumption.

And, 5 million barrels of oil costs about $350 million dollars at $75/bbl.

So, we all contributed to spending $3 billion to save $350 million.

How good a deal was that ???

They'll probably do a great job with health care though!!

Sorry Jim, your math is wrong. You forgot to include the energy it takes to manufacture a vehicle. At the mileages you used, energy does not even begin to be saved until the new vehicles has gone 100,000 miles. So, basically, it was attempt to force people to shore up GM, which the Government now owns, and which failed miserably, since GM and Chrysler were the only manufacturers that did not increase their sales over the previous year.
