4 nozzle single spray bar on Big Guy

Oh my! Where have you been all my life? Thanks Guy and Russ. I put on this bar and took off the elbow I had on top of the swivel. This thing cleans so much better. I believe now where I was often making two or three passes I can handle it with one pass and no fricking striping! Next I'm going to try putting casters like the Maxima or the smaller 24" Ground Force cleaner. I think I will be happier with casters. My employees tend to "pop wheelies" while they are cleaning thus not getting full contact. Also I believe we will like the improved mobility. Anyone else done this conversion?

That is great Pat.

How many gpm's are you running on the pressure washer with the Big Guy?

I put them on my hammerheads along with the mosmatic swvels and no elbows.

Yeah I put a Mosmatic DYF swivel on mine two years ago and it's still good. When I was taking off the elbow I figured out the top of the swivel screws off. I probably wasn't supposed to but I packed it with grease and then had a little trouble. It plugged up everything and the cap loosened somehow and water was shooting out the weep hole. I know I had the cap on real tight so I dont know how it got loose in just a few moments. The water cleaned the grease out after I took off the nozzles lol. The grease even stopped up the little #2 nozzles! Cleaned it all out and its fine now. I think the little grease that got in helped though.

Thanks for the info Pat.

I am assuming the cover height is the same on The Big Guy as it is on the Maxima and Ground Force. In other words if I order the casters and brackets that fit the Maxima / Ground Force I can drill & bolt them to my Big Guy and it work?

We use the maxima with 4 nozzle bar. Seems like the most logical thing. If you dont like four nozzles for some reason you can always plug up the two in the middle. The only downside is that you have to use smaller nozzles and they can clog.

Dont forget to keep your nozzles fresh.

We always follow a couple rules of thumb like 4" of surface cleaner deck for every 1 gallon per minute of flow from your pressure washer and about 2gpm per spray nozzle for good cleaning. I have had good luck following these rules of thumb and not let down yet.

I use the nozzle cleaner that some of the vendors sell, it looks like a 3/8" plug with a cap that unscrews and there is the thin rod that you use to push the rock/debris back inside the nozzle so it falls out, you have to remove the nozzle from the spray bar first or it will clog the nozzle again.

I have also had luck with the o-ring pick to push the stuff back into the nozzle.

I have not tried the welder tip cleaners yet, next time I am at the store that sells them I will buy one to try them out.

Well I've finally finished pimping my Big Guy and its Awesome! Gonna post up a pic after I finish repainting it. The ONLY thing original is the aluminum cover! Its got the upgrade 4 nozzle bar. 4 casters (man that really lightend it up I bet 10 pounds). A bulletproof Mosmatic DYF swivel. A skirt made from indestructabe conveyor belt material. A lawn mower handle in the middle. 3/8 hose instead of the 1/4 that came on it. And it's controlled by a qc ball valve for simplicity so I can switch over to a gun without shutting down the pump. Man we can fly with it now and its so lightweight and a pleasure to push. I'm finally looking forward to more flatwork instead of dreading it as the "hardest" type work we used to do. I bet we can go at least 40% faster now.

I'm interested in your skirt....
