Swimming Pool Tile Cleaning Clovis, Ca

We have cleaned lots of calcium from pool tile this summer. Here are two pools we worked on this past week.
The pool with the blue tile was a recently purchased bank owned property. The pool was completely drained and chlorine washed. Normally we just drain about 6 inches. Very cool - That's a good gig. Anytime you are the problem solver that removes an eyesore it's a good niche

Great job on the pool cleaning.

When you just drain 6 inches to clean, do you clean with just water? Do you use SH? How do you protect the pool's chemical makeup and pH levels?

Thanks for the comments guys.

Draining the pool completely is always my last option. But there are a few reasons to do so. For instance the pool with the blue tile sat for awhile with none of the equipment running. The house was foreclosed on and the previous owner took the pool sweep and tore out some of the plumbing. In hot weather they will turn green quick. Another reason to drain would be the same water has been in the pool for a number of years and the solids content is high. Causing what you see on the tile line.

I kind of rambled on there but to answer your question. I use a ph neutral media called maxx strip. No sh is used while cleaning the tile. Unless the pool is a swamp and the algae has stained the grout.
Draining 6" from the pool will have very minimal change to the chemistry of the pool.
I am not a weekly pool service. So I do give my customers a check list to do after I leave. One of the things on the list is to inform their pool guy that some water has been drained.

You can't tell from the pics but the blue tile'd pool has very heavy glass bead blasting damage. From whoever cleaned the tile in the past. I made it look the best I could but the damage is unfortunately permanent.
