The trucker must pay two forms of taxes for being able to operate in various jurisdictions which are self-employment taxes and state taxes. The trucker must also pay IFTA taxes in order to drive across states. Taxes paid by drivers include estimated tax, heavy vehicle usage tax, and state income tax.
