So today, I drive by the local Hampton Inn in Aiken, and I see a ratty pickup truck with a tiny magnetic sign, with a roll around pressure washer, up on a rental man lift high pressure washing the stucco exterior of the building. Take a look at their handi work

Thats Drivit. That exterior should NEVER EVER EVER be cleaned with high pressure up close and personal. I sure hope they have insurance cause it looks like they are gonna be buying a new paint job.

Heck, if I lost a big job to a hack I might be inclined to send those pictures to the contact at Hampton Inn and let him/her know to call you next time for professional results. Very sad!

Look at these guys! They don't even have a magnetic sticker on their truck!!!!!!!

Wait a minute, that's us......

One Restore and light pressure worked great, But the damage was coming from bad sign corrosion and it just came back in a month or so.

While most guys laugh and say yea they got what they paid for, I'm more concerned at what their regional or corporate people now think about pressure washing Contractors.

Bob this would be a great opportunity to get in touch with their regional manager and do some education. Not being negative but explaining the proper way to clean these buildings. You just might be able to grab some work out of it, or at least let them know that this is not the work of Professionals in our Industry.

Dang Shame.

Thanks Guy.... Yes, I m going to stop in tomorrow to see if I can find the right person, maybe even see if they are happy, or care about the results they got, and offer a demo of the right way to do it..

I would think that the local management would be upset if they even really took a good look at all.

Chances are they might not even want corporate to find out and make up excuses later on about paint failing or something like that.

Bridges would probably be burned if you went straight to corporate but it also might give you the opportunity to educate them on the right way to clean the building as the local management dropped the ball and hired someone that did not know what they were doing but I am also guessing that management in hotels often changes like it does down here.

Great point Guy.
