What's in your wallet?

I am in process of prepping my tax records for 2005. I was shocked to see a marked decline in income for the year - first time that has happened. Must be those long vacations. Was it a good year for you?

We lost well over $100k in business this year but still came out a little bit ahead. The competition is getting really fierce but the Sales Machine comes through for me every time.

Large burger chain lost to lowballing "national" company - $50,000
Large military base lost to lowballing local company - $50,000

Having a salesman that can get that money back for you in one month, PRICELESS

Starting off the year feeling like you have to "catch up" or "make up for huge losses" is a very effective sales motivation tool.

It keeps your salesman humble and hungry.

I've seen pics of Chris. Somehow he doesn't look all that hungry.

That one hurts.

In all seriousness, Chris has his work cut out for him again this year. We just lost ANOTHER big account ($20k+) to ANOTHER nationwide company. The way I see it, having all of these big companies competing against each other just seems to hurt us little guys more. When they lose big accounts its more like $200k and they have to make up for that somewhere, and there are only so many nationwide restaurants and hotels they can go after so they start coming after the local big restaurants and hotels.

It's only going to get worse, so hold on to your boots.

That really sucks, however there is one consolation. If we were to lose it all and are thrown out on the streets to forage for existence in the back alleys - asking for handouts late at night at restaurant back doors - it would be very little different from our current greaser existence. Comforting eh?
