What kind of motor oil?

Zap It Wash

Curious if anyone has a preference of motor oil you like to run in your power washer or if you just go with what’s on sale? Nothing quite as satisfying as cranking her up after a fresh oil change.

SAE approved on label + on sale (ie cheapest) = done deal. Otherwise you're just paying for all the advertising.

Valvoline...been using the same oil for years. Years ago a my service man told me to pick an oil and stick with it and don't change. Have done that and it's worked.

I run Mobil 1 full synthetic extended life 10-30. I change the oil/filter only every 100 hours though, even though it's dirty it still has a little clean look to it.

Synthetic only, let it go longer between changes. If I used conventional I think straight weight is way better than multi.

Mobil 1 for me....... I have seen amazing lubrication properties from it while I was a Service Manager in the car business. I had a non trained car washer ( under the unauthorized supervision of an experienced mechanic )let a car leave without oil.... Car made all kinds of noise and shut off... ( top end then bottom end ).... Towed car in...added Mobil 1..added into the spark plug holes ( top of pistons ).... spun the crank with a socket ( not seized )... started it up...... once the lifters ( roller ) quieted down..... the car was drivable. I met with an upset father the following day. Aknowleged the mishap...... Agreed to replace the engine if any issues appeared in the next 20, 000 miles and agreed to drain and take an oil sample at 1000 miles. 1,000 miles later the car came back for an oil change...... Mobil 1 was drained and conventional 10W-30 was installed. Engine SIEZED in 4 minutes before making it back to the customer fro delivery. Brand new 1.9L SOHC saturn engine was installed the following week. Conclusion....... Mobil 1's lubrication properties were able to lubricate a damaged engine for 1000 miles and probably many more. Conventional oil could not lubricate the damaged/spun crank bearings.

Anyway... take my experience for what its worth.......but there is only one oil I use.
