use of swimming pool chlorine to make concentrate to down stream

I have an idea about a cleaning agent, bleach.... it is commonly used for household cleaning including vinyl siding. I am wondering if you can take a large container, say 55 gallon drum and fill it with water then add 1 chlorine tablet that is used for swimming pools to make a drum of siding cleaner. colt@pressurizedpowerwashing.com

Try it. Tell us how it works.

Y'all are cold!

Colt,

Do a search related to the question you are asking. Swimming pool chlorine tablets are typically made of Diclor or Triclor, which may do a similar job in sanitizing a body of water, but may cause problems with chalking and streaking on vinyl or roofs. You may also run into problems as it sounds like you won't know the actual strength of your 'chlorine mix'... this could lead to problems with plant kill on your jobsites.

There is a reason that a LOT of guys and gals use sodium hypochlorite ('bleach') in their mixes - it is proven to work and is manageable.

Use the search option for pool chlorine, chlorine tablets, calcium hypochlorite, sodium hypochlorite and related terms... you may change your mind on the tablets.

Good luck and don't test on a customer's house!

Thanks man, ya seems that trichlor is some bad stuff. I am just trying to come up with something that will work well because jomax is expensive and thats what I am adding to bleach to bump it up.

Why do you need the jomax?

This is just one search result for 'jomax'... There really is a ton of info on here and it will make life easier for you - the 10 minutes you spend researching will probably save you and make you $$$$ down the line.

Do yourself a huge favor and start reading the older threads and start using the search button.

Most of the questions you will ask have been asked before so it will save you time so you can learn a lot faster instead of waiting for responses to questions that have been answered many, many times before in the older threads.

Basically chlorine is the cheapest part of your business. Just use what works and go washing.

Those tablets are slow dissolving. Stick with the liquid. No clumping, no dissolving and no clogging of pumps. Stick with what works.

A whole lot of aggravation, wasted time, wasted money, not rinsing well, leaving white stains all over the place, and more!

Do some searching on this bbs as this has been talked about numerous times, lots of discussions about it.

A lot of people have answered a lot of questions about it, take a good look and it will probably answer questions you have or might think about.

Happy reading.

Thanks, I will search some more. I typed in calcium hypochlorite and got a lot of random things not pertaining to it but I will keep looking. I guess I get impatient lol bad habit to have!
