Surface Cleaner nozzles

I've been told that the nozzles or the orfice sizes for your machine are a specific measurement. For example, when someone buys a particular unit with a specific type of nozzle measurement. With that being said, I was planning on buying a new big guy surface cleaner and the seller wanted to know what measure nozzles are called for my Hydrotek SC series (haven't recieved the machines yet). I told him I didn't know but would find out tommorrow.

Anyway I came across a big guy someone is selling but its used. Would I be able to adjust the nozzles on the bottom of it to match my machine just in case it doesn't already?? My machine is 3000psi @ 8gpm. Or are their custom fitted orfices on the bottom of the cleaner for every specific type of machine. Just asking for information thats all.
I don't want to buy it if it doesn't run with my machine.
Please Help.

You can put whatever size nozzles in the bottom. If the orifice is too small it will trip the unloader though. From the chart I have and the specs you gave you need a #9 nozzle to acheive max psi. On a 2 bar surface cleaner you would need 2 #4.5's
 
best surfacer cleaner I have found

The best one that I have found is called the bad boy. It is the second type that I have used in my business. I also did pw before I started my own company and this is by far the best surfacer I have found. You can get it from pressure tek.
 
all my machines are 3500 psi @ 8gpm,and i run the 5.0 in the big guys if you are using (2) tip's.If you are using (4) tips i would use 2.5's.I have found that the big guy cleans much better with the (2) tips @ 5.0

the Big Guy is as good a surface cleaner as you're going to find. There are others that are comparable, but I don't know of any that are better.

Some swear by the Landa Waterjet, but I just don't see the attraction. It is a pretty machine, but it works the same way they all do, but costs more. It is only 24" wide, so you lose 4" for every pass you make. With 8gpm, a larger surface cleaner will work great. I bought my Big Guy used a year ago, and I love it. It's quieter and lighter than the Steel Eagle I was using, and it has fixed angle spray arms, so there's no need to worry about adjusting them (other than using the proper nozzle size)

Here's a nozzle chart for you to reference. Just remember that whatever size nozzle your machine calls for to attain the desired pressure, you'll want to split that by the number of spray arms your surface cleaner has.
