If I understand this, the customer (you/me) takes the pics and develops the data, which is a lot of time consuming work. They then store this costly and valuable data on their cloud server.

Can you then download the data onto your own pc? Bet not.

What happens if you stop making the monthly? Do they then own the data? Bet they do.

What happens to the data if they go broke?

Yeah, like they keep the customer Data or maybe Sell it to the Next guy?

I'd bet so.

I've heard the hit rate is around 3%. Assuming a sale conversion rate of 66%, you'd have to take pics of 100 homes to make two sales. That'd take a lot of time, so the data becomes quite valuable. However, is it worth the time?

Another thing is that a lot of people get PO'd if you take a pic of their house. In fact, the Oregon State Appraisal Commissioner's office gets complaints on an ongoing basis.

So even though its legal might not be we'll received ?

I wondered about that also.

Maybe different marketing methods work better in different parts of the country, parts with different mentalities?

Things that are too personal here might work better on the east coast where things that work great here might not work good over there?

The big cost here is seeing the house, taking a good pic, estimating the quote, filling out the template on the iPad and sending it in.

Let's say you have a trusted and capable employee to do this. You pay him $15/hr, so all in he costs you $20. Add $10/hr for travel and what not. So total cost is $30/hr.

This is probably optimistic, but say he can do one every 3 minutes, so 20 houses per hour.

1,000 home campaign:

Pic and bid - (1,000/20) x $30 = $1,500, or $1.50 per house

Monthly membership $29.95/1,000 = $0.03 per house

Print and mail = $0.47 per house

Total cost is $2k, or $2.00/house

Bite Rate is 3%, or 30 inquiries

Sell Rate is 66% x 30 = 20 sales

Cost per sale is $2,000/20 = $100!

Of course it could be argued that once the pics are on the cloud they can be used again, and that's true. So a subsequent mailing(s) would cost far less.

But at some point the pics exceed a shelf life - new paint color, trees grow up, remodel, etc.

Remember, all the while that even though you paid to develop the data, it's in the clouds and you don't own it.

depending on what your selling ..

be selective....on what houses you shoot pictures of.

I personally like the idea you could shoot commercial property ..fast food ..shopping centers ..parking garages..etc

100 pictures of potential

for a very small cost....I like the concept

Lets see, probably slammed

Or underfunded or part timers? Maybe they don't like the idea of using the services of a call center because someone else has their data?

Selectively shooting houses will cost even more.

I agree with you about commercial, could work very well. But I really doubt that they'd know which specific individual to mail it to. So it gets mailed without a person's name and boom - round file much of the time. If you provide them with names that gets really risky. Better off to generate and produce the program in house.

lets assune while im out driving today and i see a property residential/commercial...that i may want to send a quote on ...shoot a picture of it ....bam ..it got sent ...and i'm out 50 cents

lol

I took 1,000 street bids in 10 hours. It goes rather quick. When I took them the version was dependent on 4g connection, the new version can upload to wifi after the fact so it will be even quicker. You could easily do 125 of them in an hour.

We mailed 1,000 cards on our first mailing. To date we have received 33 calls and 27 booked jobs.

We had 2 really angry people complain about there house being photographed, one of those 2 we booked a roof washing for.

We are right outside of NYC here and people are super uptight, I expected a huge backlash but there was none..

Personally I love it and will be transitioning most of my mailing over to this method. It actually ends up being quicker and more cost effective than traditional direct mail.. Sending a card or cards is so super quick, no paperwork, no stamping anything, no research etc.. Its all been done.

this video here shows it in use on the ipad:

I have spent a good amount of time with them, the company is actually over funded if there is such a thing.. They are still setting up phone and support infrastructure as we speak. They haven't even launched yet, the app is due to hit the app store this Friday for Ipad.

The Friday after that for Iphone and about a month after that for android devices.

Or underfunded or part timers? Maybe they don't like the idea of using the services of a call center because someone else has their data?

I have been doing direct mail for over 10 years and sometimes send more than a million pieces a year. When I first saw this product a few months ago I knew it would completely change everything.

I predict it will completely disrupt the entire direct mail industry.. and become the norm. The founder of the company just happens to be a window cleaner / pressure washing company owner.. So the technology showed up here first. In a couple of years we will probably be the smallest segment using it. It will be huge for Roof cleaners, landscapers, pest control, plow guys etc..

For the most up to date info, and release schedule be sure to join this FB group.. facebook.com/groups/StreetBidder

PWRA members get access to the product this Friday, the general public 30 days after that.
