Quoting help?

I am new to the business and I'm looking for some help with quoting. Is there a standard quote guideline out there or is it just quote something and maybe you will get it? Which is the best rule, by the square foot or by the job. I will be quoting resturants, gas stations, medical buildings, and other like businesses.

Any help would great!

I personally do some by the sf and some I do by the job. Restaurants, I GENERALLY charge a certain price, and not sf.

How much do you want to make?

Try to figure out how long it will take.

Add up your expenses

Add your desired profit

Add a percentage for growing your biz, new equipment, repair, etc.

Measuring square footage is important because some areas can look bigger or smaller than they really are.

Do a search, tons of good info. Pricing is very difficult to discuss as you will find out!

Charging by the hour sucks most of the time. As you get faster you make less money.

Charge by sq. ft or by the job and you will make more per hour as you get faster.
