Ron, im useing r-109 for washing buildings and i havent mixed it in a drum...do you have a measurement for a 1 gal of contrate to add to 5 gal bucket for x jeting.....like a half cup or quarter cup ? Thanks Bryan Brimage

bryan

i have a 55 gal drum. I have a 2 lb coffee can.
i mix 3 full cans of red powder and 1/2 can of the r202[orange to green] in it also. That is my soap mix.
For house washing. 5 gal bucket.
2 gal bleach,1 gal limonlene,1 gal soap,1 long squirt of Dawn plus,
1oz. of Steves wax then depending on the soil type i top off with the chem that will do the most good.
Very dirty I add the rest soap
Very moldy i add more bleach
if just reg ol dirt i top off with water.
Water hardness and soil types change the mix. This is my basic mix.
Good luck

Ron:

Can you clarify a bit on your house wash mix? If I understand you correctly, you make up a 55 gallon drum of soap mix at one time, using 3 cans of red powder and 1/2 can of r202. You then mix a 5 gallon bucket with 1 gallon of this soap mix, 2 gallons of regular bleach, 1 gallon of limonlene, a bit of dawn, and then water/bleach/soap as needed?

What is the red powder you use?

Thanks!

Mike

Mixing Instructions:

Mix all powders 1/2 pound (8 oz.) per gallon of water to make a liquid concentrate. Mix W-200 Spray Wax 2 cups of wax to 5 gallons of water to make a liquid concentrate. Mix DNB-1430 Mix Kit in 55 gallon of water to make a liquid concentrate.

House Washing:

Cut R-109 or DNB-1430 Liquid Concentrates 50 to 1. To kill mold and mildew add 1/4 bleach to your liquid concentrate. (Note: There is a lot of controversy about using bleach to kill mold and mildew, however approximately 50% of the Contract Cleaners use bleach because of availability, price, and effectiveness). Another method of using bleach is not to use it as a cleaner but only to retard the growth of mold and mildew and the residual effects ends as soon as you rinse. A ratio of 1 to 8 works well. This is something that the home owner can also do to extend the life of your cleaning job.

To remove black spots and black streaks from gutters and siding cut DNB-1430 (5 to 1) to undiluted. Caution: Undulated DNB-1430 can remove some paints and coatings. Be sure and test a hidden area to determine the strength required to remove the spotting without removing the paint.

Adding wax to your rinse water will extend the life of your wash job and enchance the appearance. See notes of W-200 Wax above.

good post

the red powder is r-109.
Remember a couple of thing's about mixing chems.
ALL CHEMS THAT ARE POWDERED.
They are measured by weight. A 2 lb coffee can can have 3 lbs of chem in it. Coffee is light compared to the soap. Also if moisture get's in your soap [just from the air] it will change the weight of it.
Everyone should have a scale.
Water hardness can effect the strangth also but the soap has water cond. in it.
The r-202 adds kick but can turn some raw alum. brown. The 202 makes it more caustic. If im going to wash cement i add more 202 to the mix or the dbn-1430.
I dont like the dbn-1430 as a gutter cleaner, most times my limonlene will get them clean. E-specks limonlene is a good tool but you need to learn how to use it. It can be hell on glass, strip paint, brown raw aluminum, and be tricky to mix-up.
As with all tools once your learn to master it, it can serve you well.
It is also very cheap. They just had a sale. Mix kit for 55 gal drum of concentrate for $55. Cant beat that with a stick.
I also use it to clean smoke stack juice off trucks, clean rims, degrease the undercarrages, clean motors, housewashing, gutter cleaning, chewing gum ghousts, soak a rag in it to wipe down my greasy pressure line, and as a pre-spray for bugs on trucks. I am impressed enuff with it where im going to try there CITRA-SOLVE TRUCK WASH NEXT.
I even think you could replace the nasty HF acid with the limonlene in 2 stepping. Only prob is you cant deluit it very much for it to be effective that way[in 2 stepping] so it would not be cost effective.
I tried the PRODIGY and hated it.

Kits

One thing to remember if you are using chemicals that are sold in a "kit form" is if the power is made of more than one chemical that comes in one bag there is no real way to make sure you have the correct mix if you mix less than the 55/Gal. drum. At least that is the way mine come in the bag. Other companies may be different, check your instructions.

Steve Rowlett who's pic you see in just in one of the responses to this post sell's chems. One of his chems is wax. I like the wax he sells.
It puts a nice shine on the house and helps in rinsing.
Also makes the windows look good.
The sun eat's it off in a week or so but makes the job look it's best when people are looking the hardest at it.
I do use a house wax sold by envirospec that lasts from 1 year to 3 years[i think either lasts 1 year.] but i charge extra for that.
Steve sells lots of diffrent chems. I have tried some of his chems and plan on trying some others in the future.
