Pump by-pass question

Hi,

I have a 4gpm belt-drive dewalt pressure washer. It has a General TS-1510a pump that I want to plumb to a water-tank. It has a internal bypass unloader. My dumb question is, can I run a bypass hose back to the water tank with this unloader, or do I need a different unloader. Where if possible would I connect a return line to this unloader? It has a small plastic barb fitting for pulling chemicals and also a pressure relief fitting. Thanks for any help!!

Bruce, you need a completely different pump. With the unloader molded into the manifold, there's no way possible to bypass externally.

Okay I have ran into this problem before. One solution is to set the unloader to 4000 psi so it does not bypass. Then add an external unloader valve on the output of the pump and set it to 3000 psi and bypass that unloader valve to the tank. The original unloader is now a safety valve so to speak.

Do you have a picture of this pump? Please let me help you by posting a picture. I think you have the wrong Model Number.

Yep, Built in Unloader! Set the thing as high as it will go and add a second Unloader on the output.

You could buy a different Head for the pump but, it will cost as much as a new pump.
