Pressure Hose.....Envirospec

All depends on what you need and are willing to pay, remember somethings you get what you pay for.

I would bet it is R1 unpolished or unfinished black hose, they don't last as long from my experience.

I perfer 100 foot lenght of R2 and polished or smooth finish, blue seems to last the longest.

I have two 50 foot length, one is the orginal and has never been used, the other is R2 blue and when I need just a little bit more hose that is what I take out and connect.

Is it a good buy, hard to say till you add the shipping cost and check around locally. If you want to know if I would buy from Envirospecs' sure, have before and would again but they need to stop marking up the shipping cost. ( Last order seemed way to high for UPS, could have sent it Parcel Post and cost less and arrived sooner, my opinion).

I bought my hose from them two 50 ft sections and no it is not pressure wash hose it is hydralic hose which I have found to be a better quality hose then came with my washers. It is good hose and has a good price. :)

i used the same hose with no problems for a year now,but i only wash part time.i don't know how it would hold up washing everyday.

OK guys,

wise me up, what is different about R2 pressure hose and hydralic hose?

Both handle pressure, one also handles hydralic oil if I am correct but other then that what is the difference?

Just got off phone with truck driver parked in Lakewood,NJ and he said any psi hose is a hydralic or powerwash hose depending on the psi the Hydralic or powerwasher was putting out as in what size hose and wire or wires where needed to keep it from brusting from the heat and wear,,,,,I almost agree with him but think some have better liners in them

PRessure wash hose and hydraulic hose are different. The hydraulic hose has a lot of stuff that is taken out of that increases the durability of the hose. (I don't know what for sure.) I do know that hydraulic hose lasts longer for me. I prefer the non-smooth covers, because the whole hose seems more durable. I also don't like the super flexible hoses. They are strong, but Unfortunately, my hoses are destined to get run over by trucks, and they do not hold up to that sort of abuse as well.
R2 is two wire braid hose. R1 is single wire braid. That is why most, if not all 3000 PSI hoses are R1. The higher pressures are R2.

The quality of the wire and the tightness of the braid also make a difference. That is just a variance from manufacturer to manufacturer.

Several years ago we had many hoses burst, mainly at or close to the fittings! We have always used 2 wire hoses. We have tried to purchase locally. We used 2 wire 4000 psi hydraulic hose with hydraulic fittings.

After having so many failures we started buying higher pressure rated 2 wire 5800 psi hose. It is also rated for 250 degrees. Currently using 5000 psi hose. Doing well!

In answer to Jon's question, I do not think that the hydraulic hose has the higher temperature rating. When we are running hot our boiler can cycle to 250 degrees or so, usually holds 175 to 200 degrees.

Thanks guys,

I have always used R2 blue, started replacing with R1 black but they only last about after 3 month before going bad, the rubber starts wearing off and the wire shows, not what I would call a good quality hose. (my opinion only, maybe I am missing something about hose here).

I already know I will stick with the R2 4000 + PSI hose but wondered if there was anything better or worst with the hydralic hose.

I run my temp around 180° most times, have tried going down to 160° but find the concrete cleans better hotter.

We have had great luck with Envirospec's Serpentine hose. In fact Scott Last year recommended it to me . bought 5 sections and going fine. Price is $29.95 per 50. Note-We don't have trucks running on the hose.

I was searching for the name. I started having failures with it after I recommended it to you. I was hoping that it was working for you, but did not have the guts to ask. It just did not seem to hold up to the vehicle traffic. Their herculite hose works better if it is going to get run over. Last time I ordered the herculite hose they said they were out of the gray and could they send the black. They asked my wife and she said it would be fine. Unfortunately, they sent the serpentine, and it lasted a total of three weeks. I had ordered 400 feet and every length had failed. I even wanted an exchange before I started using it and they would not make it good. So, as a consequence I have found another supplier or two to replace them, for everything that I buy.

I will now descend from my soap box.

Scott, thanks for the input, it is nice to know before buying what others have experiences with any given product.

Strange how you had bad luck and David loves those hoses, guess it really comes down to what it is going to be used for.

Never used the gray hoses, anything different with them then the blue?

I buy all my hoses from Envirospec. If you do commercial work make sure you get the 4500 psi rated hose...no less.

The price on the 4500 psi hose is $44.95 per 50/ 2wire. We like the Serpentine 3000 psi for several reasons price weight and long life. Since all we service are restaurants late at night we never get damage from car and trucks. The weight is a issue when you must pull hose up the side of a multi level building. Then comes the price $40 less per 100.

I ran a test a few years back, I set a truck up with two wire and another with Goodyear 1 wire. They both went out at the same time. Non marking is not a issue with us, once its pulled though a restaurant it becomes marking with no problem.

I just like the cover better. It seems more durable to me, and it does not appear to leave any marks. I am sure that it does, but they are the same color as the concrete, so no loss.

I've had good luck with the R2 blue hose. I also have every hose I have ever purchased, some spliced more than others. Anyone know if its possible to crimp a new fitting on the small(I think 1/4" hose, no wire) in the coress wands? I had a hose shop do it, but first time I ran pressure through it the fitting just popped off.

Oh HOSE HOSE AND MORE HOSE

Usually I go To Mississippi Rubber and Buy 200 ft Non Marking one solid piece , Double Braid.. Then I buy 2 Swivel Repair ends and make them up my self that way when one bust I just cut back and put another quick end on it.. I buy the repair ends from Bozeman Distributors for about $11.00 bucks a peice. The Hose is Right at $1.09 per foot
