I was wondering if all posted in phone book for exhaust cleaning, Will be putting in phone book for residential work, But heard that exhaust work was to specialized for the phone book, that direct contact was the way to go on something like this...
Please reply!!!

Thank you!!

Matt

How many restuarants are in your phone book, that is number of possible clients who may see your add and understand what it is about.

I would have to disagree with Bryan. In Southern California, the yellow pages don't cut it. For years we had various ads in various phone books and tried to track the calls we got as a result. What we found was that ads in off brand phone books (non-phone company) didn't do anything except cost money. Ads in phone company yellow pages cost more money and had a little more response, but not nearly enough to make it worth while. There are several local restaurant magazines and throw aways that get much better results but the best advertising is free, Word of Mouth. No one can sell your service better than a happy customer! Every restaurant manager or owner knows other managers / owners, let them do the work for you!

This is the problem that i am having...Some people agree that phone book listing work great, Others disagree...Being new to exhaust cleaning, Not much money to waste, Where do i go from here...It could be a waste of both ways, Dont run a add, Pay later for no response... Pay now to find out never made any money on add...Catch 52, Darn if you do, Darn if you dont... If someone else would like to response I would greatly thank you...
Just trying to way out the idea of spending the money, Which could run several hundred by next year!!!

Thank you kjmt, Grant for your experienced advice on this subject!!!

I use bold listings and in some books I use a 3 liner. I think that it important to let your accounts know that you are in the market to stay. I would not put in a big ad, but use just a line.

You must look at advertising as a investment in your company-if you look at in the short term you will see limited return.
