Thanks everyone. Those videos are a few years old. We are going to up grade them as soon as we have some time. We are booked for the next 4 months solid. don't have allot of time. But I will make an attempt by the summer.

Again, Thanks guys AND ladies for the support !!!

Whats he up to in 2010, he said he is upgrading his filter, just when I thought we were catching up to 25 gpm garage cleaning filtration, he "floors it" to 40 gpm.

Jim G make some video of the new filter.....

The hard part is that his filtration system is so much overkill. Of course, when you use a fire hose to rinse out the garage, I guess you need to be able to filter that much water.
When we are washing garages in Phoenix, Az. We don't use a fire hose, and in fact, reuse our wash water. It is a much more environmentally sustainable form of garage cleaning. I live in a desert. Water is a precious commodity. We don't dump our water until the end of the night. I can usually wash with 500 gallons of water a night, because we are able to filter and reuse it somewhat efficiently.

Scott I am still wrapping my mind around filtration, I agree that the fire hose thing has some disadvantages. I remember you mentioning you modified your H20 Boy what did you do?

What do you think about the newer XL 14

For the life of me, I cannot figure out why the cost went up 40%. Knowing what I do about his systems, and what is inside them, these actually look a little less expensive to build, except for the larger filter media housings on the side.

Part of the mods I did to my H20 boy is that the media housings that I am using are the larger ones, like on this model. I am also going to install a larger sump pump. If that works as expected, I also might start using a carbon filter as a final polishing filter. I can rent those inexpensive enough, that it might make it worthwhile. I would probably have to put a larger pump inside the water boy, though.

When I spoke with Gus the designer, he said the cost increase had to do with the mold die tool.

I also think the cartridges on the XL 11 are to small,

and still even think the cartridges on XL14 could be bigger (how many sq ft are they?)

how many final stage filters do you use in series and what steps in micron filtration?

Jerry's bigger ones are 100 sq ft each and his biggest systems uses 4 in series down to 5 microns (like these but wondered what it would cost to go bigger than 100 sq.ft each)

The ones Tom Durbin uses look nice too, at 95 sq ft each, 3 in series (filter is black and between the black tank and the white tank),

but his newer units he switched to bag filters, bag filters have less square footage, but they seem to be convenient to just open and empty unlike cartridges.

Sorry, could not resize the filters on Jerry's 3 of 100 sq.ft cartridge system to fit in the post, and you know how hotmail email is I can see it but you cant.

Its attached

I am going to break out the filtration systems I remember that I have seen, I was going to start a new thread but...., I will go with the current flow.

I want to discuss the limitations of each in a garage cleaning environment.

Hydrotek maybe to much maintenance in a parking garage.

The polishing cartridge filter are only 32 sqft (one only)
I like the fact that it incorporates the cone bottom tank, they use a bag filter like Roberts H to catch the big crud (will look for a pick of Roberts after this post)

Delcos Vacuum Sludge filtering system and the recycle 16 combo, I think this is the a great basic concept of filtration, for garage cleaning if you modify the 125 gallon dirty water holding tank and put some oil absorbing pads and baffles and upgrade the cartridge filters to more sqft, you should be ok.

Larry what is the sq.ft of the filters used, is the electrical vac motor brushless and what is the recommended the duty cycle?
