Organizing customer info

I have been wanting a way to input customer info so that I can have something that will remind me when to send out reminders for residential house washing or to print out a list of certain residential customers so I can print out labels to stick on envelopes for mailing.

I cannot get Quickbooks Pro yet so I am looking for other software that I can use and manipulate for different mailings, organize customers based on residential/ commercial/ yearly/ twice per year, etc.......

Eventually I will be getting Quickbooks Pro but it might be by the end of the year but right now I would like to start saving the customer info on the computer instead of just on paper in binders (I know, old fashioned but I am trying to get more modern now).

Not sure of what kind of program is needed, I do have MS Office 2007 on the computer but don't use it much besides Word for proposals.

What would you guys suggest?

Thanks.

We use QuickBooks Pro and I purchased Service CEO but have never got around to switching over. Plus Microsoft Office, but my sales guy raves about his program that he keeps his clients in... I can't remember the name now but what you want to look up is CRM Software. CRM software reminds you when you need to call people back and keeps all your clients organized. But I would just get QB.

What do you like about it?

I have found it very easy to use. Once I input the customer data I can schedule jobs, setup recurring jobs, schedule follow ups, invoice, track marketing methods, import to quickbooks. Their customer services is great. They are also working on integrating the program with google calendars.

Clark my problem is customer info security with these cloud bases pieces of software. Whats your take?

I use VieDispatch online right now. I think it is a good and easy program overall with customer and marketing data, estimates, quotes, banking and scheduling. It can be expensive - $187/mo, but I use the free version. The free version allows 20 work orders per month, which I am almost breaching this limit right now. I am sure I will have to go another route soon, because the $187/mo is too much for a new start-up business in my first year.

Ron, I guess we take a risk every place we store customer info. Security can be breached, laptops can be stole, email can be hacked. I don't keep any payment info on file in the cloud or anywhere. Only info I keep is name, address, email, and phone number.

So the program is cloud based? So all your customer contact info is trusted with the provider?

Yeah I understand we take risks, but a few years back a few guys wrote a KEC scheduling program for Guys. Not saying anyone Took any info but I'm not handing over client info to people in the business.

I personally do not like these types of services because info is money.

I'm also not saying this service is Bad because I have not looked at it in a long time.

Yes Ron, the program is web based. I do see your point about customer protection. I am somewhat leery at times about putting up my business and customer info on the web. I may have to re-think this and research other options.

My clients are worth 1000s

I talked to someone with Customer Factor and it will link with quick books but not quick books on line

Because qb understands the risk of security and theft of info. This is why you can trust qb . Does this customer factor meet credit card security standards. I doubt it does
