After half a day of PW my wrists Freakin are killing. I dont know what it is I started feeling it about a month ago. I use a HD-1000 gun 5.5 Gpm 3500 PSI. Do any of you guys use wrist wraps or am I just a big PUSS. Im only 27 years old this crap shouldnt happen yet. Have any of you guys found a gun that is a little easier or more confterable?

Kory, first of all I am GLAD you have work!
In the Gym, we ONLY wrapped our knees when doing EXTREMELY heavy squats.

If joints are wrapped, they will not develop the strength they are capable of.
You did too much too quickly.

Take a break, rest a few days, and allow recovery.

Your body will compensate, and your wrists will be stronger because of it.

Try a product called The Third Hand. They fit most guns. Basically, it's a wedge to hold the trigger open and is tethered to your wrist. If you should drop the gun, the tether pulls the wedge out, shutting the gun off. While the gun is on, you can repositon your hand for more comfort.

I have never had a problem with my wrists, but then, I have only been doing this a short time...16 years.

Can you distinguish whether it is tendon/ligenments, or muscles that are hurting?? How new are you at this?? Usually, "claw hand" only affects you when first starting, then it never bothers you again. Anytime a new guy starts working for me, I'm very cautious about letting them wash very much at the beginning without breaking in. They think I'm crazy, say they feel fine, and I tell them "yeah, but wait a day or two, you won't be fine, then you won't be worth anything to me. Break your muscles in properly so you don't start having cramps."

Like Apple, when I started lifting weights in my early teens I never thought belts/wraps, etc. made sense. My coaches would always say they were necessary, and I'd tell them it didn't make sense to me to squat with a belt squeezing your inners together, and bracing your back....doesn't that just create a 'weak spot'?? They'd say, "well, you don't want to injure yourself though." I never did it, because I knew that I ever needed to lift 300lbs off the ground out in the real world, I wouldn't have time to strap on a belt and wraps. I'd need those support areas of my body to be equally strong.

Now, 15yrs later, most don't recommend belts/wraps unless doing dangerous/heavy lifting. They create "weak spots". Same reason, I wouldn't use something to "help" to wash.....I'd want to correct whatever is causing you the pain. Like Apple said, maybe just rest will cure you. Let us know what happens,

Sounds like Carpal Tunnel Syndrome. Do you have numbness in your finger tips at times especially at night when slepping?

Yeah Scott, but YOU were a Boxer!

Agreed Jon.
I can see it for SUPER Heavy Deadlifts or Super Heavy Squats, like going for a Max Lift, etc.

Grant hit on the Carpal Tunnel syndrome angle.

What ever it is, i hhope Kory gets a handle on it.

Like me, he is in Tampa.
We almost got a chance to meet one day.
He beeped at us going to do a really high end roof claning job.
By the time I realized it was Kory he was gone.

I tried to catch up with him, but when you are hauling 500 gallons of Chlorine it makes it hard.

Have you tried:

An easy-pull gun? They really make a difference - but mostly in the fingers.

An aluminum wand? Holding a heavy wand does put a strain on the wrists. I use aluminum, but left the house this am (I carry 2 on the trailer, but didn't need the trailer today) without and had to use a "normal" wand. Ow! I feel your pain.
