Moderators needed,\

I'd like to welcome our newest moderator, Gordon from One Call Power Wash.

Anyone else care to help out?

There are currently six moderators that have not posted in the last 2 months and one of those six hasn't posted in 16 months. Is there any way to check and see if they have logged in to read posts? Why don't we change them to members and ask more active members to become mods? or spread the responsibilities around to existing active mods.

broadcast e-mail

Mike, Are you able to send a broadcast e-mail to all registered users?
If so, why not send one (only one) e-mail to everyone and invite them to jump back in and join the fun.

More than half of the 1504 members have never posted!
Only 360 have posted 5 or more messages!

The ones that never posted are because I had the board partially closed. They simply joined so they could view the posts.

Yes, I can send a broadcast email. It should be easy to do, however the last time I sent one it did not run smoothly. I can certainly try again.

Could you perhaps come up with a rough draft for me, as a suggestion? Post it in the mod section.

Thank you!

I will work on something tonight!

Every board has speed issues from time to time.............this one seems to be more noticeable.

I'm having no trouble right now at all, is anyone else?

Lets start a new thread or poll or two......and get people talking. It has to begin somewhere, and who better to lead the way then the moderators. Let's all start at least two new threads.........perhaps in forums that don't get many posts......

Hello fellow power washer,

This is just a reminder about the power washing bulletin board you registered at some time ago, "Pressure Washing Institute".
http://www.pressurewashinginstitute.com/board/upload/index.php?s
We now have over 1500 members and you have access to over 33,000 posts full of valuable information.
Maybe you have been reading some of the posts, but we haven't noticed you responding or posting lately and your valuable information or opinions can help other powerwashers out there and you will also gain the insight of others who have posted.
Please do log on and see what you have been missing! and don't be shy...post, even if all you do is introduce yourself.

Grant,

did you get either of my email replies? I got delivery receipts for both of them.........

Mike, how about that letter above?

Also has anyone noticed that Kendra is becoming active on PWN? but not here?

when you say "becoming active"..........i only saw one or two posts so far.........but I think that was because someone brought that thread directly to her attention.

I'd like to look at that letter right now but I have some accounting issues i'm working on right now. I'll post about it tomorrow in the mod section.

Mike can you tell Steven about being a mod.

Also Mike, the letter?

Yes- what is involved in being a moderator?
If I see something I have experience with or knowledge about I try to help.
Other than that what can I do?

There's a little work involved in being an mod and it takes time. There's even more work in being an administrator and trying to cater to the needs and wants of the audience. All of which pays nothing. So basically it's a donation of time to monitor, stimulate, and enhance the board. Enhancing the board to do what is the question.

Just being honest, I've been on this board for a couple years now and I've supported and posted here. Most know me as a distributor for the mobile pressure washing industry and once a pressure washer myself. However, to be completely honest, neither Ron nor Mike has ever, and I mean ever made any kind of purchase with me. That to me poses as a problem. I've been here to support but haven't gotten the support back. I've posted good info in these forums and this is the one I like best... But to ask for donations of supplies or crap like that when they themselves don't support the patrons or members of this board, it's plain to see why it's going south. I'm sure I'm not the only one.

Russ, have you gotten any business from Ron or Mike? Please, I'm not trying to beat up on anyone and this isn't meant to be anything but an eye opener. I mean you ask for distributors to donate something for a contest but you don't even support the distributors that frequent the board. That's like a slap in the face. I bet you all buy from Envirospec though. No wonder other boards opened up and slowly but surely interest is being lost.

In my opinion, maybe it's time to change the vision of the board. Mike's opening another board from what I read and it's hard to devote time to two of them. The original vision of the board with no plan for the future will ultimately end.

powerwashnetwork is just silly. Not being able to mention another company's name and all that crap, I'm surprised they are still around. I won't get into bashing another board but PWN sucks in my opinion. Rules Rules Rules... There's got to be an in between. Maybe a board sponsor and a store for people to come here and discuss products and usages. We all use products on a regular basis and it's nice to share what works and what doesn't and who sells it. No, I'm not saying it should be totally a soliciting board but there's got to be some motivation for the admin to keep interest.... but then again, when the admin wants and the visioneer wants but gives nothing in return to those who are members and support, then what?

I'm a member of the Chamber of Commerce. In the Chamber, we have meetings similiar to this and benefit golf outings and such. Most chamber members do what they can to do business with other chamber members. That's a part of being members, to support those businesses in that community. Well this is a community that should be supportive of one another. Is it?... NO! I'm not sure what it is other than a place to gather and spend time. Is it a community?... Yes! Should we support it?... YES! Should we support the heads of the community?... YES! Should the heads of the community support it's members?... YES! Do they?...... I guess that's up to you decide. You all know my answer to that one. A community of contractors such as this should work together for the good of all if that's the intention.

So, where does it go from here? Boot Justin for being honest and truthful or do something to change the way things are done here?

Ron, I think you should describe in your own words what you want with this forum you've created and passed on to Mike. You tell us what your ideas are and let the community decide where the forum should go and what hands it should go into. Describe in detail what your vision is and maybe those who are active here will give some input. It's not about Ron or Mike. It's about the community as a whole. If it's just what Ron wants then what are we here for? Please Ron, update your vision and put it in here. I want to see the forum stay and I'm willing to help, but first you must lay it on the line because obviously you are the one in charge here. After you tell us your vision, allow the community to answer and then listen. If it means changing your vision, well you may not be kosher with it but then again, it's not about you, it's about the community that's falling apart around you.

I'm truly interested in seeing what happens next. I'll check back, and support it as long as it's for the good of all, not just for the good of one. Isn't that the way it should be? What's your opinion?
