Ipad taking credits cards!!

Mine just arrived only took a week to get.
+1 just got my reader today too!! The first day my bank account was activated a customer paid me exactly $1,000 and it was too easy!!

I just ran my first charge on my square and holy crap a $200 charge and i only get 192
Once you get the reader it will only be a $4.15 charge LOL I agree, kinda pricey but it's worth it on some of my customers that have the option to pay with a CC otherwise its a 90 day wait....

Was that with card swipe or manually keyed in? If it was manual, you should get $192.85. If you swiped, then you should get $194.35.

Unless, they have different rates in different areas.

I still like it better than a regular merchant account that charges $25-$40month irregardless of your transactions. It would only be a better deal with the lower rates, if you did enough card proccessing volume for the difference in rates to overcome the $25 fee.

I am confused here.

With the square and the IPAD, you don't need a merchant account or you still do?

I am wanting to get an IPAD next year and if there is no merchant account needed monthly then that is the way I would like to go. I don't have a lot of customers that pay with credit cards, only once in a while that is why I use the PayPal thing so no monthly fee.

Can someone explain this to me better please?

Thanks.

No Chris you do not need a merchant account.. You pay 2% (with card present) or 3% (without card)..They send you a CC slider in the mail for FREE once you sign up an account.

I love it.. The fees add up but I just mark my price up the 2 or 3% and it's all good.. Same way when I use paypal!!

Thanks for explaining it Travis.

I just have to win or buy an IPAD now. hahahahaha

I'd wait the 90 days the interest is better than the bank is giving! Why give away your money? why take CC's at all?
it just doesnt have any benefit? give me one good reason to do biz that way?????????????
By the way I am breaking my cherry on this post ...nice to meet you

how about this. we done a truck show one year. when the guys pulled up at $80 a pop to wash a truck, do you think i should get all there info? send them all a bill??.....or if one of my accounts wants to pay right there, right then. its better than waiting till the first of the month to send them a bill, then waiting to send a check back......and you say taking credit cards doesnt have any benifits.

Well.......... If you done a truck show thats differnt. thats one good reason! I have never offered truck washing so I can admit I was wrong to a certain extent. I have no problem telling people I dont accept CC's & haven't lost a client yet. Most commercial accounts would prefer to send a check and I would prefer to wait on the money than to have to share it with a company getting rich off of my sweat.... Its not just 3 bucks, its 3% and that adds up! Have you really had a commercial account that has insisted on using their CC? That has never happened to me......ever.
one more thing ... you seem a tad angry.....did I offend you? If I did sorry :)

And No....I am far from crazy:eek::crazy_pilot:

We have a commercial customers pay 6k on CC before , and all we do is tell them there is a surcharge. Alot commercial do it when they can not pay with check within 60 days

Neat app for sure, correct me if I'm wrong but wouldn't those charges be a tax deduction?
