Ideas for website

I've been updating and messing with my homemade website. Hoping you guys might have some constructive ideas. Next year I plan on getting it professionally done, but this year this is what I got to work with. So any thoughts are appreciated!

I learned the hard way about certain do' and dont's when building a sight. Most of the quick build it yourself sites are template based and search engines don't like that too much. Have a good reputable company build you a strictly code base custom site that will give you the most flexibility for now as well as down the road. If you have it built by someone make sure that you own it lock stock and barrel from the get go and that you have the ability to "take it with you" whenever and wherever you want. Sometimes the "package deal" even in a non template custom code based site will limit you from moving it sometimes for a given period of time. Look around the web at tons of sights in different businesses to get a feel for the types of things you would like on your site, to give some visible suggestions to your programer along with his own ideas. It also takes work on at least a weekly basis to keep the site fresh and you need to know what maintenance support along with cost there will be for that maintenance. It is helpful if you can find someone that is in or tied to your type of business that can help develop keywords and verbiage. Just some thoughts Im not an expert by any mens but spent to long getting my site where I was happy with it, school of hard knocks if you will.

WOW, thanks Mark for the advise! I believe I am in love with your site. Your business is exactly where I want mine to be in several years. Thanks again.

Thanks for the advise guys, I really wish i could stretch the logo or make a banner, but because it's template based, It won't let me.:banghead: I tried. I'm starting to come around to the realization that I need to pay a prof. :crying:
