I did a job a couple weeks back and all the other windows came out fine except for these ones. I used blue voodoo for the house wash. I am assuming that the water got trapped behind the plastic pane dividers and came out after i left, anyway I need to get them claned up. can anyone point me in the right direction??100_1233.JPG100_1234.JPG

Start out simply washing them like normal. We use Ecover soap (1/4 oz per gallon of water) as our regular window cleaning solution. I would work on it with my wfp first since I have one. If that doesn't work you can get some basic hard water stain removers from some of the home centers.

I think its some dried on soap, The gc said he tried everything to remove them but nothing worked.

Is that in between the glass, as in not accessible, or is on the outside of the glass..like it just ran down during your rinsing??

To tell if it's between the panes of the window unit put your finger on one of the streaks. Look at it from the side and it it appears that your finger isn't touching it then it's inside the house or in between the panes.

Yeah...but I am not understanding first why it two weeks to notice it, and second, why the GC couldn't remove it after trying everything.....I hope it's not etched into the glass.

I've worked with a few GC's and been one myself. Depending on the lighting and when you are on the job it could be 2 weeks before you are there at the right time with the right light to see something.

Its on the outside of the glass. I am not sure the exact name of the plastic dividers that make the glass look like 8 seperate panes, But i think the water got behind there and dripped down after i left. The only thing I used was blue voodoo and water. This was a super simple low pressure house wash so they could put on another coat of stain. the house isnt even being live in full time yet, they are still working on it. It only happened at the windows and doors even the little oval one, on the top balcony nothing else. I used the same mix through out. he said it was noticed the next day. 100_1146 (640x480).jpg

I would apply some more voodo w water and rinse. It should come right off. When we see it, it just comes off with water. But we use roof snot and its never on there that long. But it is dry.

I'm just thinking out loud about this, but something doesn't seem right with this situation Steven. Questions that come to mind are: Why is it only on those windows when your product and process were identical for the entire house? Did the contractor contact you the day he noticed it (the day after you completed the job), or did it take him 2 weeks to contact you? I've never used Blue Voodoo, but I don't see how the contractor could not remove soap residue no matter what he tried.

In my opinion, something isn't adding up. I would ask some questions about any other work that was done to that section of the home like the staining/sealing or even work completed before you did the job. Was a clear sealer sprayed on anything in that area?

Yea i hear ya about not adding up. I am confused a lttle also. I did the job on the 2nd and He told me today that it was noticable the next day by the h/o and the h/o told him about it on monday. the 4th why wait 11 days to tell me about it. also he said he tried acetone, windex, purple power, goof off, and a bunch of others that i cant remember. with tis being a 4 million dollar house I made my mix super weak

Steven, what is in Blue Voodoo? Any sh?
Your picture looks very similar to a situation I had to deal with two years ago.
I was pressure washing and doing outside windows at a house and it started raining buckets. I quickly shut down and apparently in my haste didn't rinse a few windows well enough. I went back the next day or maybe in two days to finish up and streaks similar to that were on the windows where I didn't rinse well. It took enormous effort to get it off. I think I ended up using steel wool and a mild abrasive. The next step would have been One Restore or the like.
Soap alone should dissolve in any liquid you use with moderate agitation, so my thoughts is that it's another chemical that bled out from the mullions.

It's not the blue voddo it's the salts in the sh when it dries on the windows.Clean those windows with some vinager an newspapers and you will be good to go.

This is what I would recommend some white vinegar, a little dawn, and water. This stuff works fantastic on windows.
